WCC

Played golf in the am thanks to my neighbor Jack A and fished the White Clay Creek in the PA preserve in the pm.  Warmer than expected pm temps saw the caddis hatch on in the early afternoon with some fish feasting on the drys.  My black bodied grey winged size 16/18 caddis pattern earned me quite a few strikes and a 16 incher came to hand before the bite was off.  Later in the day just before dark a beaver nymph took two nice brown trout in one of the deeper stretches.  Not a bad day before thanksgiving.

Spent a few days on the Salmon River in Pilaski NY targeting steelhead on the Salmon.  Also fished a small creek outside Rochester on the same trip.  No steelhead but one atlantic, and a few browns came to hand .  Back to the WCC tomorrow.

Gave the White Clay Creek a visit this evening hoping for a late afternoon hatch in the nice weather.  Not surprised to see a small caddis hatching.  They were about a size 18 with a brown body and slate gray/brown wings.  Saw no fish until about dark, when I was successful with a caddis and midge dropper.  One brown and one rainbow on each fly on consecutive casts.  It was worth the visit.

Fished the preserve section of the White Clay Creek , in PA today.  Rainbows were attracted to an oversized streamer size 2 and a brown came to hand on a micro madison mayfly nymph.  The water is back to seasonal levels and the fish were in the deeper sections of the creek today.

Many of the areas in the White Clay Creek , a Delaware River in DE and PA saw some changes after the water levels reached 4000 cfs during the storm.  The high water mark showed grass layed down up the banks and deposits of new trash were up in the woods.

Some trees that were downed now are either layed parallel to the banks or gone!. The fish can be found in the rocks. Leaf litter has been washed out.
