Fished the mud bank in the preserve on the White Clay Creek a Delaware River in PA.  Needs to be renamed now that it is full of trees.   Swam some streamers again and had a great morning pulling those browns out from the tree crown sunk in the creek.  Too much fun and even retrieved a few flies I left from the last outing.

Seems the blog entries are still coming over slow to date, and I am working to correct that with the site hosting service.  I fished late today and the evening hatch saw a few light bodied sulfurs hatching.  I recently experienced a sulfur hatch in TN and had a few flies from that venue that worked tonight.

I fished all the new downfalls - trees in the water and new snags.  I drifted streamers into the mess and prayed for action, which was forthcoming.  The browns tore up an Edson Tiger dark streamer size 10 and the rainbows prefered a cream woolly with a gold beadhead.  Did I mention I lost about a doz flies in the tree mess.

Some signs of pressure over the weekend as I made it to a snaggy location on the stream today to test the fact that trout eat minnow imitations dangled in the snags.  Very fun morning.  I used my favorite streamer an a few others to temp them.

You can't have a better day on the stream than this.  All too unbelievable to share.  Overcast  w/water temp 59.  Fish showed everywhere eating caddis.  Great day to test a new rod.

Water levels are being replenished with the rain event today.  I fished early in the rain - my least favorite way to fish!,  but the combo of a san juan worm and a chironomid dropper was attractive to a few fish.  The water level was rising the whole time and the turbidity also increasing from bank run off.

Fished the Brandywine outing with the White Clay Fly Fishers today - a Fish for Free Day in DE.  Almost everyone caught smallmouth bass and sunfish and a few lucky anglers landed a fall fish (creek chub) or two.  A great day with good food and friendship makes these outings very special.

Just a note about the DE FF section.  The last storm took a few trees down and the infamous O'Donnell hole now has a new tree down just up stream from it.  That will change things into the future,

Water levels on the White Clay Creek, a Delaware River in PA and DE have receeded and are back to normal with a slight tinge in the color.  The water temp was 59 degrees this morning and the fish were hiding in the rocks today.  Nymphing the rocky areas was the only successful strategy and one rainbow and one brown was caught on a bead head brown stonefly .  A beautiful morning.

The White Clay Creek in DE & PA is pretty well flooded today, so if you try to fish you may want to try a San Juan worm or a big streamer that pushes some water - fished near the edges of the stream.
