The latest stocked fish are taking up feeding positions in the White Clay Creek, a Delaware River in PA and DE.  Attractor dries worked today- royal coachman dry size 12 and royal trude in size 10.  I was able to land a brace of browns at the DE line.

Many of the recently stocked rainbows in the White Clay Creek PA special regulation section of the middle branch look like they were glad to be out of the concrete holding pens they were raised in.  Many had burnt noses and roughed up fins, but they still were agreeable to an Edson Tiger dark streamer size 6 and 4. Some surface action was noted later in the morning after the sun was on the water.

So I pounded away at the big tree snag in the mud bank curve below London tract bridge today.  As good as the fishing was yesterday, it was a bust today.  Total flies lost - about a dozen.  Total fish to hand - zero.

An early chilly morning led to a good late morning on the White Clay Creek in PA for me today.  The trout have been hard to come by, but today I found a few in the shallow riffles.  A big white wullf seemed to please both the rainbows and browns. What they thought it was is a mystery.  Just a great day.

A number of the "holes" on the White Clay Creek, a Delaware River in DE and PA have been changed by fallen trees and debris from the flooding episodes we experienced over the last few weeks.  Although this may seem like bad news, the creek now has new challenges for you.  Learning to fish the new structure is always a learning experience and the fish find these new snags as great structure to hide.  Yes I have lost numerous flies trying to learn how to fish them. And yes they are changing the stream flow, but that's natures way and there's no reason to complain.  Just get out there and fish!
